1. Registration for Spring season: On-site registration was open today from 10AM to 2PM.
2. New Regional Comissioner: Brandon Lasley nominated Chloe Keener to be the next regional commissioner (RC). By a show of hands it was a unanimous vote to install Chloe as the RC. Katie Jones was thanked for her period of service as the previous RC.
3. Treasurer Report: AYSO 1390 acct: $29,206.08. So far registration monies collected starting on Dec 20, 2023 up to the present day has been $9,263.47 through Blue Sombrero. Registration fees and hotel rooms have already been paid for Expo for Feb 23-25 (next week). Food and other incidentals will accrue and be paid once the invoices are received. Expected Management fee to Knox County Parks and Recreation $5000 (one year) is due this spring.
4. Training:Section 5/14 Expo will be held at Embassy Suites Airport, 10 Century Blvd, Nashville TN 37214 on the weekend of Feb 23-Feb 25. Early registration cost is $180.00. Eight people from AYSO 1390 are registered to go.
5. Work Days: March 2 10am to 12noon. Additional day next Saturday.
6. Field Equipment: Allan said that our old pavilion was in bad shape and had been taken down last year. He offered that the region purchase a new metal cover pavilion for $3942. This would include setup on our site. He is asking Parks and Recreation to lay down a concrete pavement so the pavilion could be set on it. He also submitted for the board to purchase a small portable building for $4000 that could be closed and locked. It could be used with a portable air conditioner during the section games. It could also be used as temporary storage during area/section games or sports camps. Both of these buildings would be placed at the rear of the concession stand (south side). Both of these items were presented for a vote and the vote passed that the items be purchased and setup. Allan also said he might be able to purchase three newer Toro Workman side by sides in May that could be used for the Section games and that some of the older ones we currently have could be sold. Also he suggested we might be able to setup some water misters that could be used as cooling during games during the hot days.
7. Financial: Allan and Chris have received the new Divvy (now called Bill) cards and both have been activated.
8. New Playing Rules: There is now a new age division called 15U which expands the 14U division. Also slide tackling (which had been prohibited in the previous year) had been rescinded. Any slide tackle which does not foul another player is now legal.
9. Uniforms:Chloe said the uniforms for the region have been received. These invoices are yet to be received.
10. Area/Section Games: Area games will be held on May 4-5 at Ball Camp fields. The section games will be held at Region 1390 on June 14th to June 16^th.
11. Next Region Meeting: The next region 1390 meeting will be at Allan’s home on Saturday March 16^th 6pm
