AYSO 1390 Commission Meeting Minutes Friday July 22, 2022

Allan Hancock’s home 6420 Mountain Laurel Rd, 37924. 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

 

Attendees: Katie and Jasmine Jones, Allan Hancock, Chris Crum, Chloe Keener, Meagan Roberts, Josh Turpin, Cullen Ball, Ed Palado, Ryan Vaden, Mark Colavecchio, Jim Tolbert.

  1. Registration for Fall season:  On line registration is open and on site registration will be held on Aug 20 10am to 2pm. Registration numbers as of 7/22/22: 4U (2); 5U (5); 6U (6); 8U (6); 10UB (7); 10UG (11); U14G (3); U16B (1); U19 (none).
  2. Treasurer Report:  AYSO 1390 acct: $14788.52; KSA acct: $3211.70.
  3. Training:  Bethany, Chloe, and Catherine are going attend the Section 5 Expos in Chattanooga, TN the weekend of Feb 4-Feb 6. The Super Camp in Maryville is to be held in July.
  4. Work Days: Aug 20th 9am to 12noon. Additional day Aug 27th.
  5. Field Development: CRICKET. Knox Co. Parks and Recreation has excavated a section between the two large soccer fields on the west end. This will be the pitch for a cricket field. The cricket field will encompass the whole west end of the complex so that cricket and any soccer games cannot be played at the same time. Allan will have a pallet of field marking paint delivered at about $28 per 5 gal pail. Allan will look into purchasing some goal nets and a pallet of grass seed.
  6. Field Equipment: Maintenance service is being performed on the WorldLawn King cobra lawnmower and one of the Toro Workman by McGinley Lawn and Garden on Alcoa Highway. Chris will work on the Yanmar and the Long tractor.
  7. Soccer Camp:  Cullen Ball, Carter High School girls soccer coach said one of his players who is running for Homecoming Queen wants to hold a soccer camp at AYSO 1390 soccer fields on the weekend of Aug 26th. This is still being discussed but it could be a Friday night, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon camp. The cost per player was being discussed with $20 for the total camp being offered. The camp would be for 5 to 10 year olds and all monies would go to the Carter High School. Cullen will ask his Carter team girls if any would referee the younger division AYSO games this season.
  8. Future events: Two U12 Boys and one U12 Girls Region 1390 teams are in the lottery to play in the National Games in California. It is tentatively planned for a Fall Tournament to be held at AYSO 1390 field on Nov 5 – 6. This may be only between 1390 and Northwest/Powell.
